Private jet charter from Detroit to Naples

Naples is the Florida destination where the airport genuinely narrows the aircraft list, and where a broker who has not read the ordinance will quote you something that cannot go.

What it costs

Detroit to Naples, priced by aircraft size

Estimated prices for the whole aircraft from Pontiac, including the 7.5% federal excise tax, at September 2026 rates. They assume an aircraft based in Michigan on an ordinary date; peak weeks run higher and a repositioning leg runs lower. Our advisory fee is a separate line on top.

Aircraft sizeTypical aircraftComfortableFlying timeOne way
Light jet Phenom 300E, Citation CJ3+ 4–6 2h 50m $16,000–$24,000
Midsize Citation XLS+, Hawker 900XP, Learjet 60 6 2h 45m $17,500–$29,500
Super-midsize Challenger 350, Citation Latitude 7–8 2h 40m $26,500–$39,000

A one-way range is wide because it depends on how much of the aircraft’s empty flight home the operator charges. Staying a few days? Send both dates: the return is priced both ways, and often costs less per hour than two separate one-ways. How these numbers are built.

On this route. Broadly comparable to Sarasota for the same aircraft, with the caveat that fewer aircraft qualify. A quote that looks unusually cheap for Naples is worth checking against the aircraft’s actual performance at the field rather than its published range.

Want the real number? The form above already has PTK to APF filled in. Add a date and the passenger count and you get actual aircraft, the operator’s price and our fee on separate lines.

The route

What Naples rules out

Naples Municipal sits inside a noise-sensitive community and runs restrictions to match. It is a short field by Florida standards and the rules are real rather than advisory in places. Fort Myers is fifteen minutes further and has none of these constraints, which is often the better answer.

01

Stage 1 and Stage 2 jets are banned

The airport prohibits the noisiest aircraft classifications outright. Most aircraft flying today are Stage 3 or better, but older tails still circulate in the charter market and this is a hard stop rather than a preference.

02

Voluntary restraint, 10pm to 7am

Flights are discouraged overnight, and full-service fueling is unavailable from 9:30pm to 6:30am. If your schedule puts you in late, plan the fuel stop rather than discovering it.

03

A short field for the category

Naples is materially shorter than Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale. Aircraft that manage the route comfortably may not manage the arrival with a full cabin on a hot afternoon.

Aircraft

What I would quote for this trip

Three starting points rather than a catalog. Which one fits depends on how many of you there are and what you are carrying — the baggage and runway comparison sets out the numbers for thirty-four aircraft.

Citation XLS+

The sensible default here. Short-field capable at roughly 3,560 ft with the baggage to make the trip worth taking.

Phenom 300E

Around 3,138 ft of runway and the largest hold in the light class. Comfortable at Naples where bigger aircraft are not.

Pilatus PC-24

Jet cabin, cargo door, and roughly 2,930 ft of runway. The answer when the group is small and the field is tight.

Prices for each size are in the cost table above.

Send the route and the bag list. You will get real aircraft, the operating carrier named, and the full cost split into the operator’s price and my fee.

Coming back

Naples to Detroit

The return is the same trip in reverse, and it is often where the better pricing sits. We arrange Naples to Detroit and Naples to Pontiac as readily as the outbound — you do not need to be in Michigan to book it.

Two things make the northbound leg worth asking about separately. An aircraft that flew someone south has to get home, and an operator would rather sell that leg than fly it empty. Those repositioning flights run in both directions on this corridor and commonly price 30% to 60% below the equivalent charter.

The second is that a one-way usually pays for the aircraft to reposition anyway. If you are going out and back within a few days, quoting it as a round trip often costs less per hour than two separate one-ways, because the aircraft stays with you instead of making four legs.

Either way, send both directions when you ask. Quoting the outbound alone hides the cheaper version of the same trip.

Nearby airports worth pricing

  • Fort Myers (RSW)
  • Page Field (FMY)
  • Marco Island (MKY)
  • Punta Gorda (PGD)

Often cheaper, quieter, or closer to where you are actually staying. Worth pricing alongside Naples Municipal rather than instead of it.

Questions

Detroit to Naples

How long is the flight from Detroit to Naples?

About 2h 45m in a midsize jet. The distance from Oakland County International (PTK) in Pontiac to Naples Municipal is roughly 995 nautical miles, which is nonstop for every aircraft we would normally quote on this route. Whether it is nonstop with your group and your luggage on your date is the question worth asking, because payload and winds both move that answer.

What does a private jet from Detroit to Naples cost?

One way in a midsize jet, roughly $17,500–$29,500 including federal excise tax, at September 2026 rates. Broadly comparable to Sarasota for the same aircraft, with the caveat that fewer aircraft qualify. A quote that looks unusually cheap for Naples is worth checking against the aircraft’s actual performance at the field rather than its published range.

Which airport should I fly from in Michigan?

Oakland County International (PTK) in Pontiac is the default for most of Southeast Michigan — the second busiest airport in the state, no airline terminal, and customs on the field. Willow Run and Detroit Metro both work, and Bishop International in Flint suits anyone north or west of the metro. The right answer is usually whichever is closest to your door.

Can I fly into a smaller airport near Naples?

Often, and it is worth asking. Alternatives on this route include Fort Myers (RSW), Page Field (FMY), Marco Island (MKY). The constraint is runway length and the aircraft’s performance on the day. Give us the address you are actually going to rather than the airport you assume you need.

Do you arrange Naples to Detroit as well?

Yes. We arrange Naples to Detroit and Naples to Pontiac exactly as readily as the outbound, and you do not need to be in Michigan to book it. The northbound leg is also where repositioning flights show up most often, since aircraft that carried someone south have to get home. Send both directions and we will price the round trip against two one-ways, which frequently costs less per hour.

Who operates the flight?

An FAA-certificated Part 135 air carrier. YAJ Jet Charter is an air charter broker — not a direct air carrier, and not in operational control of any aircraft. The operating carrier is named to you, with its certificate and insurance verified, before you sign anything.
